These burgers were inspired by one of Elvis’s favourite foods, a burger with peanut butter, bananas and bacon. I wouldn’t normally think about adding peanut butter or caramelized bananas to a burger, but they actually work really well! You can use your favourite burger patties and I like smash burgers where you take the ground beef, form it into small balls and smash it into the pan; the patties are thin so they cook quickly and get a nice caramelization on both sides. You could use raw bananas but taking the time to make the caramelized bananas is well worth it! There is something magical about the combination of the greasy beef patties with the creamy, stick to the roof of your mouth, peanut butter, the sweet caramelized bananas and salty bacon! Yum! The next time you are thinking about making some burger, try these Elvis style smash burgers for something a little different!
