Pumpkin Pie Spice

[heart_this] · Oct 12, 2023 · 3 Comments

Pumpkin Pie Spice

A homemade pumpkin spice blend that’s perfect in pumpkin pie, pumpkin breads, pumpkin spice lattes, etc.

Pumpkin season is here and that means pumpkin spice everything! Instead of buying expensive pumpkin spice blends, it’s super easy to make your own! Pumpkin spice generally contains 5 ingredients: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. This recipe is for my favourite combination of spices and you can easily change it up! Like more ginger, add more! Prefer less cloves, use less! I like to make pumpkin pie spice in small batches and keep it on hand for baking or adding a pinch to coffee, hot chocolate, etc.

What is the difference between pumpkin pie spice and individual spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves?

The pumpkin pie spice blend is a popular combination of spices in the fall. You can use the individual spices, and combinations of them, as desired or premix them for convenience. If you like pumpkin spice coffee or pumpkin spice latte, it’s nice to have the blend premixed and on hand to quickly add a dash to your drink!

I am so happy to see your pumpkin pie spice mix!!! I have looked in every single grocery store in our area for it and it apparently no longer exists for them! I was working on ratios of spices together but it just wasn’t coming together for me. So. THANK YOU in the biggest way!!
