Sweet Chili Ground Chicken

A quick and easy ground chicken in a tasty sweet chili sauce!

Sweet chilli sauce (link) is one of my favourite sauces and it’s so easy to make a tasty meal with it! This is a simple dish where ground chicken is cooked, along with onion and bell peppers, in a sauce with sweet chili sauce, salty fish sauce, tart lime juice, and umami packed oyster sauce! This recipe comes together in about as much time as it takes to cook some rice and it goes great when served with fresh cucumbers, carrots and chopped peanuts!

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes Servings: 4

A quick and easy ground chicken in a tasty sweet chili sauce!

ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken (or beef, or pork)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce (link)
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (or rice vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
directions
  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium-high heat, add the ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart as it cooks, for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the onion and bell peppers and cook until tender, about 5-8 minutes.
  3. Add the mixture of the garlic, sweet chili sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, and oyster sauce, mix, and cook until fragrant, about a minute.
  4. Mix in the cilantro and green onions and enjoy!
Option: Serve over rice with cucumber, carrots, roasted peanuts and extra sweet chili sauce!
